Last week, the Kosofe Post (KP) reported that Akintunde was one of the aspirants that have commenced subtle campaigns, among others. However, the reports seem to be a threat to the incumbent Ikosi Isheri LCDA Chairman, Princess Samiat Bada, who is speculated to be nursing another ambition, Supervisor Akintunde-ige Olusegun Solomon, who tagged the reports on various platforms as fake news.
In a recent development, Akintunde has confirmed the report to be authentic, not fake news. Speaking on April 9th on Voice of the Truth, KP’s Facebook comment section, he said, “This is not a fake news. Right to vote and be voted for! God’s will and unity of the Party in great Ikosi Isheri – Akintunde Stainless = Equality, Inclusiveness, Development, and Sincere open door policy!!! The Unifier is coming.”
Akintunde’s confirmation has caused a stir among the political circles in Ikosi Isheri LCDA, with many speculating that he could pose a serious challenge to the incumbent Chairman. According to the KP Preliminary Fact-Finding, no fewer than 10 contestants on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) will be vying for council number seats.
As other contestants are preparing to join the race, political observers believe that the contest for the Ikosi Isheri LCDA Chairmanship position is going to be a keenly contested one. With the confirmation of Akintunde’s candidacy, the political landscape in the area has become even more interesting. It remains to be seen who will emerge as the winner of the election, which promises to be a thrilling one.
