The competition for coveted positions in Governor Babajide Sanwoolu’s cabinet has escalated, with nominees from Kosofe Local Government Area vying for key roles. Notably absent from the list is the former Honourable Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Yetunde Arobieke.

Since Governor Sanwoolu’s inauguration on May 29, the race to secure top positions in his cabinet has intensified. Kosofe Post’s investigations reveal that three names from Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, Agboyi Ketu LCDA, and Kosofe have been submitted to the Governor for consideration, with Yetunde Arobieke notably missing from the list.

Among the local councils in Kosofe, Kosofe itself appears to be the favored candidate. This preference is due to the fact that the immediate past commissioner hailed from Agboyi Ketu, and the newly sworn-in member of the House of Representatives representing Kosofe Federal Constituency, Hon. Kafilat Adetola Ogbara, is from Ikosi Isheri LCDA. This gives a potential advantage to Kosofe LCDA to produce the next commissioner.

However, keen observers have pointed out that recent political events, such as the election of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker from the same West Senatorial District without consideration for Lagos Central and Lagos East, suggest that the Commissionership position could emerge from the two LCDAs again.

The following individuals are being considered for the Commissionership position in Kosofe:

Hon. Dayo Bush Alebiosu – Former two-term member of the House of Representatives representing Kosofe Federal Constituency.
Hon. Afolabi Bamisile Kazeem – Former Executive Secretary of Ikosi Isheri LCDA.
Abiodun Ogungbo – A senior public servant.
