Oworonshoki Celebrates Majestic 1st Year Anniversary with Dignitaries, Cultural Extravaganza

Oworonshoki, a vibrant riverine city in the Kosofe area, transformed into a buzzing hive of activity as it welcomed distinguished guests to honor the paramount ruler of the town, HRM Oba Babatunde Saliu, Elebo II, on his momentous first year on the throne. The air was thick with excitement as the ancient town hosted a carnival-like celebration, drawing prominent figures from both social and traditional circles.

The pinnacle of the anniversary festivities was the grand conferment of prestigious chieftaincy titles upon deserving individuals. Chief Mufutau Olabimtan and his elegant wife, Abike, were honored as the Asoju and Yeye Asoju of Oworonsoki, respectively. Joining them in this esteemed recognition were Chief Yusuf Busari and his gracious wife, Ashietu, who were bestowed with the titles of Borokini and Yeye Borokini of Oworonsoki. Furthermore, Chief Babajide Yahaya Agunbiade and Chief (Mrs.) Morenikeji Atoyegbe were honored as Bobaselu and Yeye Oge of Oworonsoki Kingdom, respectively.

The anniversary celebrations were graced by an array of traditional rulers who came together to celebrate one of their own. Leading this distinguished assembly was Oba Sulaimon Bamgbade, the Olofin Adimula of Isheri Olofin. Other notable royal attendees included Oba Kabir Agbabiaka, the Osolo of Isolo; Oba Morufu Adisa Adekunle, the Ojoola, paramount ruler of Ejigbo; and Oba Monsur Abimbola Oladega, the Olu of Agboyi. Notably present was HRM Oba Abeeb Adesina Akolawole Adoyi-Alashe Faronbi, Eringoke Alo I, the Alaashe of Oke Alo Elect, alongside other prominent traditional rulers.

The gathering was further graced by distinguished personalities, including Honorable Kafilat Adetola, the Member of the House of Representatives representing Kosofe Federal Constituency; Honorable Moyosore Ogunlewe, the Chairman of Kosofe; Mayor Dele Osinowo, the Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA; Princess Samiat Bada of Ikosi Isheri LCDA; Alhaji Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya, popularly known as M.C. Oluomo; Mrs. Adejumoke Animawun, Assistant Secretary of the APC Lagos State, and many others.

Adding melodious rhythm to the festivities, two renowned Fuji maestros, Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde Marshall and Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, enthralled the gathering with their captivating performances, serenading the esteemed guests.
