Agboyi Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Kosofe, Lagos, came together on Wednesday to bid farewell to the late Supervisor for Environment, Hon. Peter Bamisaye, who passed away on June 1st, 2023.
The Christian wake keep, attended by the Executive Chairman, Mayor Dele Oshinowo, alongside his cabinet members and the political class, served as a poignant tribute to a respected grassroots politician.
The event was attended by a multitude of individuals, including friends, family, colleagues, and associates of the late Hon. Peter Bamisaye. As they gathered to honor his memory, they spoke warmly of his character, describing him as a mature peacemaker who fostered openness and harmony in his interactions with others. His ability to connect with people from all walks of life was highlighted, emphasizing his commitment to tolerance, respect, forgiveness, and love.
Mayor Oshinowo, in his tribute to Hon. Bamisaye, praised the late supervisor’s integrity and honorable nature. Oshinowo acknowledged that Bamisaye saw no distinctions based on color or creed, but rather believed in the inherent capacity of humanity to coexist in peace and unity. The mayor lamented the loss of Bamisaye’s expertise in maintaining a stable political equilibrium within their administration, noting that his absence would be deeply felt.
During the gathering, Mayor Oshinowo offered prayers to the Almighty, beseeching divine intervention to grant Hon. Peter Bamisaye eternal rest. He also sought solace and comfort for all those left behind, who now have to navigate a world without the presence of their beloved peacemaker.
