Kosofe Local Government Community Development Committee Chairman, Hon Segun Babatunde, celebrated his birthday today, but the day took a chaotic turn as members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) stormed his residence demanding Senator Adetokunbo Abiru’s Sallah gifts.

According to The Kosofe Post, Senator Adetokunbo Abiru, representing Lagos East Senatorial District, had distributed over 6,000 food packs and 10kg of rice for the recent Sallah celebrations. The distribution was carried out through the Local Government Area (LGA) and wards in Kosofe and Lagos East Senatorial District.

In an interview with Kosofe Post, Hon. Segun, who coordinates Abiru’s activities in Kosofe, stated that he had distributed the Sallah packages to the wards for further distribution by coordinators in Kosofe. He revealed that he had been directed by leaders to give the packages only to the coordinators whose names replaced those involved in antiparty activities during the 2023 general elections.

However, early in the morning, two individuals identified as Kazeem Opeodu and Seyi Oladipupo reportedly stormed Hon. Segun’s house and allegedly assaulted him in their quest for Senator Abiru’s Sallah gifts.

One of the suspects has been apprehended by the police at Alonge Police Station, Oworo, on charges of assault and threats to life, among other offenses.

In response to the incident, Member of the Audit Board Commission, Mr. Musiliu Alade Aigoro, who was allegedly accused of sponsoring the individuals, denied any involvement. He claimed to have no knowledge of the incident and stated that he was hearing about it for the first time from the correspondent. Mr. Aigoro added that he was currently undergoing training in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, and had not been actively involved in party activities lately.
