Renowned Journalist Ajagbe, Appointed Special Adviser on Digital Communications

The Executive Chairman of Lagos Island East Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Muib Alade Folawiyo, has appointed prominent journalist Ajagbe Adeyemi Teslim as Special Adviser on Digital Communications in a move to bolster his administration’s digital outreach.

The appointment was officially announced on Thursday through a statement issued by Hon. Muib Alade Folawiyo himself, and it takes immediate effect. The statement, duly signed by his Chief of Staff Hon. Jubrila Kabiawu, emphasized the strategic importance of digital communication in contemporary governance.

Ajagbe Adeyemi Teslim is well-known in the media sphere as the publisher of the widely recognized online platform, August24news.com, and its affiliated YouTube channel, August24news TV. The latter holds a Google accreditation and certification, boasting an impressive subscriber count of over 5,000 and accumulating more than 55,000 views.

Having built an illustrious career in journalism, Ajagbe demonstrated his brilliance, hard work, and versatility through roles as an entertainment reporter, Business Editor, and Political Editor before venturing into the digital space and establishing August24news TV.

Notably, Ajagbe’s affiliation with the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) and his extensive experience in online journalism were cited by the council chairman as the primary reasons for his appointment. Hon. Muib Alade Folawiyo believes that Ajagbe’s skills and political alignment make him the ideal candidate to bolster the council’s communication efforts.

Ajagbe Adeyemi Teslim holds a National Diploma (ND) in Mass Communications from Lagos State Polytechnic, which is now known as Lagos State University of Science and Technology, Ikorodu campus. He further honed his journalism expertise by obtaining a National Higher Diploma (HND) in Journalism from the esteemed Times Journalist Institute (TJI) in Surulere, Lagos.

Throughout his career, Ajagbe has actively participated in various workshops, seminars, and training programs, significantly contributing to his growth as a digital journalist and setting him apart from his peers in the field.

Reacting to the news, the Lagos State Deputy Chairman of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), Hon. Moshood Mayegun, expressed his gratitude to the council chairman for selecting Ajagbe as his digital communication aide. He praised the young and vibrant journalist, believing that Ajagbe’s appointment as Special Adviser would yield outstanding results, surpassing all expectations.
