The Araromi Mende Community in Kosofe Local Government is mourning the loss of a revered leader, High Chief Akinola Ajose, the Baale of Mende. The long-reigning Baale peacefully joined his ancestors on a solemn Saturday, leaving behind a legacy of commitment and peacemaking.
High Chief Akinola Ajose’s passing has elicited an outpouring of condolences and support from various quarters. The Kosofe Community Development Committee (CDC), Community Development Associations, residents, and the political class have all expressed their heartfelt sympathies to the grieving people of the Araromi Mende Community, the Chiefs-in-Council, and the Royal family.
In a statement issued on Saturday evening, the General Secretary of the Kosofe CDC, Abiola J. Kuku, extended his deepest condolences to the bereaved family. Kuku, with tears in his eyes, described the late Baale as an iconic figure in the community, known for his unwavering dedication to stabilizing the region, promoting peace, and ensuring the welfare of his subjects and the entire Mende Community through his benevolent acts.
Kuku fervently prayed that Almighty God would grant High Chief Akinola Ajose eternal rest and forgive his shortcomings. He also extended his wishes, saying, “May the Lord Almighty grant his family and the residents of Mende the strength to bear this irreparable loss.”
