Agboye Estate Chairman Recounts Collapse: No Casualties

Raymond Ijele Jesus, Chairman of the Tenant Association of Agboye Estate, spoke about the recent collapse of part of the multi-storey Agboye Estate in Lagos. During a visit to the scene, he described how the incident unfolded. He highlighted that no casualties occurred but mentioned an individual who sustained a minor injury.

Mr. Jesus added that no flooding Was recorded, commended the Redeemed Christian Church of God for offering shelter and food to those affected by the incident.

The Majority Leader and Councillor for the area, Hon. Adekoya Gbadegoke, attributed the collapse to the negligence of the estate’s owner. He outlined the steps taken by the local government to address the deteriorating condition of the buildings and the subsequent intervention by Lagos State agencies.

Despite the ordeal, Mr. Jesus appealed to the government for assistance, especially for those who have been displaced from their homes.
