Balogun Elected President in Peaceful Ketu Youth Association Election

Muritala Kayode Balogun was declared the newly elected president of the Ketu Youth Association after a peaceful election held at Ikosi Road, Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, Kosofe, Lagos, on Friday. The election also saw several other keenly contested positions filled, including Vice Chairman, Treasurer, General Secretary, and Financial Secretary.

Chairing the Ketu Independent Electoral Committee, Engineer Mustafa Balogun expressed his satisfaction with the smooth conduct of the election. He reported that out of the 114 accredited voters, 109 cast their votes with only three void ballots, and the chairman was elected unopposed. “The total number of five offices filled included chairman, vice-chairman, secretary, treasurer, and financial secretary. All the aspirants displayed competitiveness, and the election was conducted properly,” he stated.

He emphasized the importance of the newly elected executive members putting the community’s interest first, working diligently, and maintaining honesty in their dealings. “They should know that they are working for the upliftment of the community and not for their interests,” Engineer Mustafa Balogun added.

Outgoing President, Prince Kazeem Balogun, thanked Almighty Allah for the successful election and expressed confidence in the newly elected president, describing him as a charted accountant with a humble disposition and a love for community work. Prince Kazeem Balogun vouched for Muritala Kayode Balogun’s capacity and competency, urging him to continue the excellent work he had been doing.

Prince Kazeem urged the new executive to foster unity and sincerity in their efforts, emphasizing teamwork to elevate the association to new heights.

The newly elected president, Muritala Kayode Balogun, expressed his happiness about the election’s transparency and credibility. He promised to work for the betterment, progress, and empowerment of Ketu’s youth, as well as to collaborate with the government to bring positive change to the community.

Balogun extended a hand of partnership to those who contested but were not elected, assuring them of inclusivity in the association’s activities. “For that reason, for that good intention, we are going to engage them to work with us so that we move the society forward together,” he stated.

Balogun paid tribute to the outgoing President, acknowledging him as a role model and pledging to continue his legacy of greatness for Ketu. The atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm, and residents expressed optimism about a promising future under the leadership of the newly elected president.
