The presiding prophet of Jehovah Eye Salvation Ministry, Prophet Godwin Ikuru, joined in the jubilation today as the Supreme Court delivered a decisive judgment in favor of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, dismissing the appeal filed against him by the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Mr. Peter Obi of the Labour Party.

Prophet Godwin Ikuru, who had previously prophesied the president’s victory in the Supreme Court, expressed his joy at the outcome of the case, declaring that he had foreseen the disappointment that Atiku and Peter Obi would face after the judgment. In his celebration, he extended his congratulations to prominent figures including Seyi Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, Nuhu Ribadu, and the entire APC family.

The Supreme Court’s ruling on Thursday, October 26, effectively upheld President Bola Tinubu’s election, dismissing Atiku Abubakar’s appeal for lacking merit. The court emphasized that Atiku failed to provide evidence that he had won the election and refuted the claim of any alternative figures of votes to challenge the validity of the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) declared results.

In a resolute statement, the Supreme Court asserted that it could not manufacture votes in favor of Atiku and the PDP, concluding that there were no grounds to support their appeal. The court dismissed all grounds of appeal related to qualification, non-compliance with the Electoral Act, the 25% votes in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and allegations of electoral malpractices.

Justice Okoro, who delivered the lead judgment, clarified that the failure of President Bola Tinubu to secure 25% of the votes in the FCT did not constitute a basis for nullifying his victory, emphasizing that the constitution did not mandate such a requirement for presidential candidates.

The Supreme Court also addressed Atiku’s motion to admit fresh evidence related to President Tinubu’s academic records, obtained from Chicago State University. Justice Okoro ruled that the court could not accept such evidence, as it lacked jurisdiction to admit fresh evidence after the time for trial at the Court of Appeal had expired.

The judgment reaffirmed President Tinubu’s election victory and underscored the importance of adhering to constitutional provisions and procedures.
