About two months after the passing of the Baale of Ajose, Mende, Kosofe, the community is once again plunged into mourning as the wife of the late Baale, Mrs. Comfort Abeni Ajose, breathed her last on Monday, October 30, 2023, at the age of 88 years.
The news of Mrs. Comfort Abeni Ajose’s demise has elicited a wave of condolences and sympathy from a wide spectrum of individuals and groups, ranging from friends and family to members of the political class and religious leaders, who have all come together to support the grieving Ajose family during this trying period.
Hon. Sanni Ganiyu Okanlawon, the lawmaker representing Kosofe Constituency 1 at the Lagos State House of Assembly, was among those who expressed their condolences. In a heartfelt message, he conveyed his sympathies to the Ajose family on the loss of their beloved mother, late Mrs. Comfort Abeni Ajose.
Hon. Okanlawon’s condolence message, shared on Tuesday evening, recounted the unfortunate incident that transpired on Monday, October 30, 2023. He described the late Mrs. Comfort Abeni Ajose as a devoted servant of God who lived her life wholeheartedly.
He expressed, “On behalf of my adorable wife, Alhaja Halimat, family, and the wonderful people of Kosofe Constituency 01, I express my condolences to the Akanni Ajose family on the loss of their cherished mother and late Baale of Mende’s wife, Mrs. Comfort Abeni Ajose.”
In paying tribute to her memory, Hon. Okanlawon highlighted Mrs. Comfort Ajose’s remarkable qualities, describing her as “an embodiment of humility, compassion, and a mother figure in the Ajose family.” He also underscored her role as a source of joy, support, and encouragement to all who had the privilege of crossing paths with her.
He concluded his message with a prayer, saying, “I pray for the repose of our dearly mother’s soul and may God grant the entire family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. May her gentle soul rest in peace. Amen.”
