A call is being made for transparent leadership and timely community engagement following the reactions within the Kosofe community regarding the allocation of 100 million worth of rice by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to House of Representatives members, including those representing Kosofe Federal constituency.

Stakeholders emphasize that the aim is not to criticize Hon. Kafilat Ogbara but to encourage her success in fulfilling the entrusted mandate, drawing parallels to her predecessor, Hon. Rotimi Agunsoye. In 2018, Agunsoye faced similar scrutiny but responded by initiating a mega empowerment program, embracing community engagement, and ensuring transparency in representation.

The public’s focus on Agunsoye during his term brought about positive outcomes. Kosofe stakeholders, currently voiceless, demand impactful motions, quality zonal projects, and transparent distribution of empowerment and palliative interventions without discrimination.

To avoid future controversies, the call is for elected representatives at various levels to emulate Hon. Dekeri Anamero, who promptly announced the source of Christmas palliatives received from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, demonstrating transparency.

While remaining open to partnerships with people-oriented representatives, the Kosofe Post underscores the significance of genuine feedback beyond political divides, emphasizing its commitment to unbiased reporting and analysis.
