In the bustling community of Agboyi Town, nestled in the heart of Lagos State, one man’s dedication to the betterment of his hometown shines bright. Meet Kalejaiye Mutiu Afolabi, a distinguished leader with a passion for progress and a commitment to serving his community.

Born on May 27, 1980, to the illustrious Kalejaiye family of Onikoro in Agboyi 2, Agboyi Ketu, Lagos State, Kalejaiye’s journey towards leadership began early in life. Educated at Agboyi Primary School, Agidi Comprehensive High School, and Baptist Academy, Obanikoro, he laid the foundation for a future dedicated to learning and growth.

Driven by the belief that education is the key to success, Kalejaiye pursued higher studies at Lagos City Polytechnic, where he earned a National Diploma in Business Administration and Management. Furthering his academic pursuits, he obtained a Higher National Diploma in Business Administration from the prestigious Ogun State Institute of Technology, Igbesa.

With a solid educational background, Kalejaiye ventured into the corporate world, gaining valuable experience at Lead Way Assurance and Network Microfinance Bank. However, it was his role as a contractor at Allied Atlantic Distilleries Limited in Igbesa that allowed him to make a tangible impact on the local economy.

Transitioning from the private sector to public service, Kalejaiye’s foray into politics marked a new chapter in his journey. Appointed as the Senior Special Adviser on project monitoring in 2018 and re-appointed in 2021 under Mayor Dele Oshinowo’s administration, he demonstrated his unwavering commitment to community development.

A stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Kalejaiye’s political journey saw him as a former Councilorship candidate and councillorship aspirant. His involvement in various political campaigns, including Senator Tokunbo Abiru’s bye senatorial election in 2020 and APC Lagos State’s 2021 governorship delegate, solidified his position as a respected figure in local politics.

However, Kalejaiye’s impact transcends politics, as evidenced by his significant contributions to Agboyi Town. Notably, his initiative to construct five water fetching points for residents underscores his dedication to addressing essential needs within the community. With three points already completed and two more on the horizon, Kalejaiye’s efforts align seamlessly with the Agboyi Ketu LCDA Clean Water Initiative, promising access to clean and safe water for all.

In addition to his community-driven projects, Kalejaiye’s commitment to development is exemplified by his residence in the historic Agboyi town, where he has erected a magnificent mansion—a testament to his unwavering dedication to his roots.
