In a recent interview with Kosofe Post, Fatoki Ayobode Kehinde, the Special Adviser on Environment to Ikosi Isheri LCDA, Kosofe, debunked the notion of rotational chairmanship within the council. Responding to reports from the Isheri community advocating for the council seat, Fatoki emphasized that the position of Chairmanship is not subject to any rotational arrangement, neither is it mandated in any political document of the LCDA.

“Let aspirants come out based on competency and experiences,” Fatoki asserted, highlighting the importance of open competition devoid of sentimental influences. He challenged the community to focus on service rather than tradition, citing examples of previous representatives from Isheri who have held significant positions within the LCDA.

Regarding the upcoming elections, Fatoki expressed his desire for a fair and transparent process, cautioning against the use of sentimental tactics to sway decision-makers. Despite the clamor for change, Fatoki reassured residents that the present local government administration remains committed to delivering democracy dividends to Isheri and beyond.

“As a government that represents all, we will continue to extend our services to every corner of the LCDA,” Fatoki affirmed, supporting the council’s dedication to equitable development.
