In a heated exchange of words, supporters of Hon. Kafilat Ogbara, the lawmaker representing Kosofe Federal Constituency of Lagos, and Ikosi Isheri LCDA Chairman, Samiat Bada, have clashed over various palliative interventions and perceived performance shortcomings.
The dispute ignited when Ogbara’s supporter, Ekundayo, urged Chairman Bada to follow the lead of counterparts in Surulere in distributing palliatives to alleviate the suffering of the masses. Ekundayo criticized the selective distribution of council vehicles amidst prevailing economic hardship, emphasizing the urgent need for food projects akin to those implemented elsewhere.
Responding to Ekundayo’s remarks, Supervisor Gbadesere Isiaka Sabiu defended the LCDA’s actions, citing ongoing developmental projects and social initiatives aimed at benefiting the community. However, Ekundayo remained steadfast, pointing out deficiencies in road construction efforts and expressing concerns about the allocation of resources.
The debate further intensified as Kayode Khalee questioned Hon. Ogbara’s utilization of allocated funds and her overall performance. Allegations of misappropriation surfaced, contrasting Ogbara’s purported lack of impactful projects with the achievements of neighboring representatives.
In response, Ekundayo defended Ogbara’s record, highlighting her relatively short tenure and urging a fair assessment of her accomplishments. He called for a thorough review of records within the Kosofe Federal constituency and challenged comparisons with other representatives.
As tensions continue to rise and scrutiny mounts, stakeholders emphasize the importance of transparent governance and effective representation. With constituents demanding tangible results and accountability, the spotlight remains firmly fixed on both Hon. Ogbara and local officials as they navigate these contentious issues in Kosofe Federal Constituency.
