A crucial community in Kosofe Constituency 01, stakeholders convened at the palace of Oba Oloworo on Wednesday in a bid to address the perennial issue of flooding in Oworonshoki.
The meeting, presided over by Hon. Sanni Ganiyu Okanlawon, Chairman House Committee on Local Government Administration, Chieftaincy Affairs, and Rural Development in the Lagos State House of Assembly, aimed to discuss the impending construction of a massive concrete canal embankment/lining spanning 1300 meters (1.3 km) from Olopomeji via Ojileru into the lagoon.
During the meeting, Hon. Okanlawon expressed his congratulations to constituents as the government embarked on a permanent solution to the flooding challenge. Accompanied by Kabiyesi Oba Babatunde Saliu, the lawmaker took a comprehensive tour of the community, including a stop at the fire station facilitated by Hon. Okanlawon, which stands at 95% completion.
Addressing attendees, Hon. Okanlawon assured constituents of more positive developments on the horizon and reiterated his unwavering commitment to improving infrastructure within the constituency. He emphasized that significant progress would continue to be made under his watch.
Notable figures present at the meeting included Engineer Ajadi and his team from the Director of Drainage Services, Lagos State Ministry of Environment, Kosofe CDC Chairman Hon. Segun Babatunde, community leaders, APC members, and residents.
