In response to fervent demands from stakeholders in the Isheri community within the Ikosi Isheri Local Council Development Area, Council Chairman Samiat Bada has taken a significant step forward. On Friday, the Chairman presented two 300KVA transformers to representatives of Isheri North GRA and Oshorun Estate.
The provision of these transformers comes amidst mounting pressure for a power shift in the upcoming 2025 elections. Allegations of unequal project distribution have fueled the community’s agitation, with claims that out of 23 executed projects, Ikosi received 22 while Isheri received only one during the two-year tenure of the Samiat Bada-led administration.
Mr. Olusegun Olalekan Fayanki, a vocal advocate for Isheri’s interests, reiterated the community’s stance on the need for equitable representation. He emphasized that it is now Isheri’s turn to produce the Chairman of the Ikosi Isheri LCDA.
