Comrade Funmilayo Joseph Elected Coordinator of NYCN, Promises Youth Empowerment in Agboyi-Ketu LCDA

In a recent election held at Mascara Health Centre, Comrade Funmilayo Joseph, the immediate past President of Agboyi Students’ Union, emerged as the Coordinator of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) in the Agboyi-Ketu LCDA area of Kosofe. Expressing his joy and gratitude in a conversation with The Kosofe Post, Comrade Funmilayo emphasized the honor of being elected to such a servant leadership position by Voluntary Youth Organizations (VYOs) and Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) within Agboyi Ketu LCDA.

Acknowledging the well-conducted election, Comrade Funmilayo extended his appreciation to the State Executive Council of NYCN Lagos state, particularly highlighting the contributions of Comrade Sulaimon Biliaminu Oba and the Congress Planning Committee led by Comr. Rotimi Marayesa and Comr. Bibire Yusuf. He also thanked Mayor Oladele Oshinowo for his leadership role and the HOD Agric of the LCDA for her support, along with other council members.

With a rich background in youth development within the Agboyi community, including previous roles as Treasurer of the Agboyi Students Union and President of the Progressive Youth Movement, Oko-Agbon, Comrade Funmilayo expressed confidence in delivering tangible outcomes for the youth. He pledged to focus on collaborations, teamwork, symposiums, youth engagement and empowerment, and youth involvement in policies and decision-making processes.

Promising partnerships with Rotary Clubs for youth projects, Comrade Funmilayo urged the youth of Agboyi-Ketu to embrace peace, dialogue, and consultation in their endeavors. He emphasized the importance of utilizing their ideas, technology savvy, connections, and prayers to advance the welfare of the community, urging them to be good ambassadors and dedicated advocates for positive change.
