The announcement of Barrister Moyosore Ogunlewe as the All Progressives Congress (APC) consensus candidate for the 2025 Local Government election in Kosofe has sparked mixed reactions among stakeholders.

Hon. Ibrahim Muatapha, a prominent APC stalwart, expressed gratitude for the consensus decision, asserting that Kosofe Local Government is settled with Ogunlewe’s candidacy. However, he hinted at an intriguing contest in Agboyi Ketu, where several aspirants are eyeing the seat about to be left vacant by the incumbent Mayor Dele Oshinowo.

In response to Muatapha’s announcement, Publisher/CEO of MOSCHINOBLOG, Engr. Olusola Adedayo, questioned the assertion of a consensus candidate, emphasizing the need for inclusivity and respect for other aspirants. Muatapha defended his statement, citing Ibrahim Bakare’s absence from APC activities since the 2023 election campaign.

Adding weight to Muatapha’s stance, Oloye Seun Salami affirmed that Ibrahim Bakere Olawale’s return to APC remains unofficial, branding him a pretender. Salami commended Muatapha’s courage in speaking out and asserted that Ogunlewe’s candidacy ensures a closed contest in Kosofe.
