In a bid to enhance economic growth and improve the quality of life for residents of Orile Maidan Ketu under Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Babafemi Saheed, a Lagos Lawmaker, has pledged to provide more social amenities and infrastructure in the area.

The assurance was made during a Medical Palliatives outreach organized by the lawmaker to support the residents of the community. Addressing the gathering, Saheed outlined plans for the establishment of a primary school, the furnishing of a healthcare center, and road construction to address the movement challenges faced by residents.

“The government is committed to ensuring that our communities are equipped with social amenities and basic infrastructural development,” Saheed stated. “We will continue to advocate for the establishment of such facilities to foster societal progress.”

He emphasized that the program, which included food support, medical assistance, and public enlightenment, aimed to address various community needs and promote development.

Chief Saliu Onikoro, a Traditional Leader in the Community, expressed appreciation for the efforts of the government and highlighted ongoing initiatives such as the construction of a bridge. He reiterated the community’s desire for additional amenities to support growth and development.

Residents, including Engr Denis Olakitan and Mr. Abayomi Oguntimehe, emphasized the urgent need for infrastructure improvements, particularly the repair of a collapsed bridge. They highlighted the impact of the bridge’s condition on transportation and economic activities in the area, underscoring the importance of government intervention to address the community’s needs.

Saheed reassured residents that their concerns had been noted and promised to continue advocating for the necessary resources and support from the state government to facilitate development in Orile Maidan Ketu.
