Japa and work visa: Tips to consider

[The loaded Man] Work visa is most preferred type of visa, however for those seeking to Japa, it is not the easiest to get when applying from overseas. Here are useful tips to guide you so you don’t fall prey and to guide your search.

  1. The easiest and surest work visa type is post study work visa. Other than that, most work visas to Top A countries like Canada, Europe, USA, Australia and the likes require documentation to secure. This is mostly obtained either through Skilled Migrant pathways or other occupation based work type visas. The easier alternative for work visas for these countries is seasonal worker visa for farmers, sea farers, and the likes. Only Canada has announced 15,000 Permanent Residency on arrival for Caregivers (starting soon) and that is so far one of the biggest catch for workers.
  2. Visit visa is not work visa. Many agents will sell you the idea of using visit visa to Japa and convert to work visa but be aware that it is not an easy road to take. Planning Japa solely on Visit visa, though it may look easy on plain sight, is full or hurdles that does not make life rosy or easier when you relocate. So before you part your money for Visit visa Japa package, you need to think things through. It is better to secure work visa in other countries like say Brazil, and secure funds to relocate properly.
  3. If you are promised a work visa for Top A countries by an agent from overseas and it is not a seasonal work visa or it is a semi-skilled job like cleaner, factory worker and the likes, it is most likely not genuine. Most of the legit work visas that are semi-skilled are seasonal and every country have a special visa designation for it.
  4. If you can, avoid work visa packages to Middle Eastern countries like Oman and the UAE if it is not skilled work. Not all abroad is abroad. However, if you do get a legit semi-skilled job, say in Qatar, aim to work for a few years and relocate for more permanent work options in Top A countries, if you can.
  5. There are several types of Work visas that are available in many countries, don’t limit yourself to the broad types. You may be eligible for a visa you are qualified for but unaware of. For instance, Residence visa for truck drivers, chiropractors, counselors, Mechanics, plumbers that countries like New Zealand and Australia are open for.
