In a dramatic twist to the ongoing marital asset dispute between Mr. Gbadamosi Olalere Gbadamosi and his estranged wife, Mrs. Folasade Balogun Gbadamosi, new revelations have come to light regarding alleged financial misconduct.
In a statement issued on Sunday, September 22, 2024, and made available to the Kosofe Post, Mr. Gbadamosi disclosed that a rebuttal document authored by the legal firm Babalakin & Co. had recently been brought to his attention. This document sought to counter his earlier Caveat Emptor regarding the dissipation of assets accumulated during their 21-year marriage.
Mr. Gbadamosi claims that in 2018, unbeknownst to him, Mrs. Gbadamosi opened a secret account for Redbrick Homes International Ltd. at Keystone Bank, forging his signature in the process. “At mediation, having discovered this illicit account, I asked her about it. Her lawyer, Bayo Adaralegbe, threatened to ‘go after’ me,” he alleged, revealing that her attorney was later appointed to the board of the company under questionable circumstances.
Mr. Gbadamosi further claimed that Mrs. Gbadamosi laundered ₦2.8 billion through the secret account and suppressed this information during mediation, leading him to withdraw from the mediated agreement. “The validity of the mediation settlement used to defraud and steal the companies from me is the subject of ongoing litigation,” he added.
According to Gbadamosi, his wife’s failure to respond directly to his Caveat Emptor and her reliance on legal representatives is an attempt to avoid public accountability. The case remains in court as the dispute over Redbrick Homes International Ltd. continues.
