Stoke-on-Trent, England, lit up on Saturday, December 7, as Nkechi Lekan-Atejioye, fondly known as Nkay, celebrated her 40th birthday with glitz and glamour. Friends, family, and colleagues gathered at Warrington Village Hall to honor the ICU nurse at Royal Stoke Hospital, hailing her as a beacon of love, loyalty, and excellence.

The vibrant event featured sumptuous Nigerian delicacies and electrifying music, with A-list Nigerian hits spun by a lively DJ. Guests hit the dance floor, celebrating Nkay’s milestone in a joyous atmosphere of laughter and camaraderie.

Tributes flowed both virtually and in person, painting Nkay as a multifaceted woman—God-fearing, a loyal friend, a life-saving nurse, a scholar, a family-values promoter, and a devoted mother and wife.

Her husband, Chief Lekan-Atejioye, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the attendees who braved the winter chill to celebrate his wife. Reflecting on their 12-year marriage and two-decade-long bond, he described Nkay as “the best wife ever,” highlighting her selflessness and resilience.

“My wife is gentle but firm. She makes sacrifices without complaint and only ever asks for a simple ‘thank you.’ She is the prayer warrior of our family and has been my anchor in every sense,” he said.
