Political tensions are heating up in Ikosi-Isheri LCDA as Comrade Sulayman Olayiwola, popularly known as Opomulero, has accused Hon. Kehinde Fatoki, Special Adviser on Environment, of abandoning his once vocal activist stance in favor of political survival.
Opomulero’s remarks come amid criticism from Olusola Emmanuel Adedayo, who accused Fatoki and others of celebrating inherited projects and minimal achievements in office. Adedayo lamented, “It’s so unfortunate that we now celebrate mediocrity.”
In response, Fatoki dismissed the allegations, asserting that the project in question was just one of many delivered by the Mayores administration, in which he played a significant role. He emphasized that governance in Ikosi-Isheri LCDA was progressing, citing a recent inspection by Lagos First Lady, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, who commended the council’s infrastructural strides.
However, Opomulero was unimpressed, laughing off Fatoki’s response and branding him as “mediocrity personified.” He alleged that Fatoki remains publicly silent due to his political ambitions, believing that loyalty to the party will eventually earn him a reward.
“Hon. Fatoki will never complain in public because he still hopes for compensation from the party. He used to be a comrade, but now he only complains behind closed doors. Hopefully, they reward him with more than just another LCDA SA position,” Opomulero stated.
Fatoki, once recognized for his activism—including an award from KosofePost in 2018—now finds himself at the center of a debate on whether political ambitions have dulled his once outspoken nature. As local politics intensifies, all eyes remain on how Fatoki will navigate the criticism and his future within the party.
