A Lagos-based businessman, Mr. Taiwo Odusola, has filed a legal complaint against an individual identified as Mr. Ganiu Oyebanjo over alleged defamatory statements made against him on various news and social media platforms.
Through his legal representatives, Lords & Temple, Odusola is demanding a public retraction, an apology in two national newspapers and several online platforms, as well as ₦100 million in damages. The businessman alleges that Anthony falsely claimed he purchased properties, including houses and a hotel, for Barrister Moyosore Ogunlewe, the Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government.
oyebanjo-vs-bizmanIn a letter signed by legal counsel Kolawole Salami, Odusola’s lawyers described the allegations as “spurious, unfounded, and malicious,” arguing that they were politically motivated to damage his reputation.
Odusola is giving Anthony 14 days to comply with the demands, warning that failure to do so will lead to a lawsuit seeking exemplary damages.
As of the time of this report, Anthony has not publicly responded to the allegations.
