As Nigeria marked International Workers’ Day on May 1, Hon. Shakiru Adekunle Balogun, a prominent political figure in Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), has commended workers for their unwavering dedication to the growth and development of the community.

In a message to residents, Balogun acknowledged the crucial role of workers in driving societal progress, describing their efforts as the “heartbeat” of Agboyi-Ketu’s advancement.

“I deeply appreciate the sweat and sacrifice of our workers. Your dedication is the heartbeat of our progress,” he said.

Balogun used the occasion to restate his commitment to serving the people in an expanded capacity, pledging to uphold the rights of workers and ensure their contributions are recognized and rewarded. He unveiled a vision of inclusive development anchored on dignity, opportunity, and collective progress.

“My aspiration is rooted in service—service that protects your rights, amplifies your voices, and delivers real development,” he said. He promised to prioritize job creation for youths and economic stability for families, stressing that no worker should be left behind.

The message concluded with a call for unity and shared responsibility in building a stronger Agboyi-Ketu. “This Workers’ Day, I celebrate you. I stand with you. And I ask you to walk with me, as we rise together—stronger, better, united,” Balogun added.

He also extended warm wishes to residents for the new month, urging them to continue working together for a better future.
