Femi Oyesile Clinches APC Ticket for Ifako-Gbagada Councillorship Seat

By Bilesanmi Abayomi

Femi Oyesile, the incumbent councillor representing Ifako-Gbagada in Kosofe Local Government Area, has emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) flag bearer for the ward in the upcoming local government elections.

Oyesile secured victory in the APC primary election held on Saturday, May 10, polling 17 out of the 23 votes cast. His closest challenger, Mrs. Temitope Daodo, garnered six votes. The outcome was confirmed through both text messages and video evidence made available by a credible source within the party.

A known loyalist of APC chieftain Omooba Olumuyiwa Sosanya, Oyesile’s win was widely anticipated by observers familiar with the internal dynamics of the party in Kosofe.

Meanwhile, results from other councilorship primaries conducted across wards in the Kosofe Federal Constituency remain undisclosed. Electoral committees overseeing those contests have yet to release official outcomes, raising concerns about transparency and fairness in the selection process.

Political analysts warn that the lack of timely result announcements could open the door for manipulation, with fears that candidates favoured by party power brokers may be imposed during the formal declaration stage.

The APC is expected to unveil its full list of candidates for the forthcoming local government elections in the coming weeks.
