Tension has gripped the Mile 12 area of Lagos State following a gruesome incident in which a woman was reportedly set ablaze by yet-to-be-identified individuals. The tragic event, which occurred days ago, has sparked widespread fear and unrest among residents.

In the wake of the incident, security operatives have launched a series of raids in a bid to restore order. However, multiple accounts from locals allege that the enforcement actions have resulted in indiscriminate arrests, with innocent residents being picked up alongside suspected perpetrators.

Community advocate, Comrade Mudashiru Ismaila Alabi, has called for urgent intervention by relevant authorities to address the rising tensions and ensure justice is served.

“We are calling on those who matter—government officials, traditional leaders, human rights groups, and security agencies—to come together and act swiftly to protect innocent lives,” he said. “We must prevent a situation where more people become victims of circumstance and are wrongly recorded by history.”

As anxiety mounts, the community is demanding a balanced and transparent investigation that will bring the perpetrators to justice while safeguarding the rights of law-abiding citizens. Residents await a coordinated response from both government and security agencies to restore peace and provide clarity on the ongoing situation.
