A recent video released by the Coalition of Chairmanship Aspirants in Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, which firmly rejected any prospect of a third term for current Chairmanofthecouncil, SamiatAbolanleBada, has sparked a wave of mixed reactions across social media, particularly under the Kosofe Post community thread.
Supporters of the incumbent Chairperson, popularly referred to as “PSB,” took to the comments in full force, reiterating their unwavering support. “Your second term is assured,” wrote Oshoffa Olayemi Rosemary, while others like Oriyomi Oluwatoyin and Folakemi Adebile Adebayo praised the “Madam Project” and affirmed loyalty to PSB 2025. Passionate expressions of support were also visible in emoji-filled comments and religious affirmations, with Sheu Ajibolatosho stating, “ The promise of the Lord is madam project Eleyinju Anu mayoress lekan si… in the name of Almighty Allah.”
However, not all voices were in agreement. Critics like Mohammed Moroof Adeleye questioned the democratic ethics of seeking a third term, calling out what he described as the “greedy” nature of such pursuits. “Is 11 years not enough in office?” he queried, while cautioning against hypocrisy and political sycophancy.
Rosemary Gbogidi echoed a more tempered stance, acknowledging the chairperson’s influence but urging others to “try your luck after years.” Meanwhile, Jesus Mandate called for unity and prayers, emphasizing peace and God’s will over political rivalry.
Others, like Ayo Idowu, struck a hopeful yet cautious tone, stating, “The truth would prevail… it’s a matter of time.”
The divergent responses underline the high political tension in the buildup to the 2025 Ikosi-Isheri LCDA chairmanship election. As debates continue to rage online and offline, the issue of term limits remains central to the conversation, with citizens closely watching how events unfold.
