The rich cultural atmosphere of the Ileya Festival provided a colourful backdrop as political figures and community leaders from Lagos and Ogun States gathered in Ijebu-Ode to honour Dr. Babatunde Osinowo at the annual Ojude-Babatunde Osinowo celebration.

The event, held in memory of the late Senator Adebayo Osinowo—popularly known as “Pepper”—brought together party stalwarts, family members, friends, and political associates at Deprime Hall in Ijebu-Ode for a celebration of legacy, service, and community.

Among the dignitaries in attendance were:

Hon. Kafilat Ogbara, Member, House of Representatives (Kosofe Federal Constituency)

Hon. Sanni Ganiyu Okanlawon, Member, Lagos State House of Assembly (Kosofe I)

Hon. Dele Osinowo, Chairman, Agboyi-Ketu LCDA

Barr. Moyosore Ogunlewe, Executive Chairman, Kosofe Local Government

Hon. Adetola Abubakre, APC flagbearer for Agboyi-Ketu LCDA

The gathering featured Islamic prayers, tributes, cultural performances, and moments of conviviality, as attendees reflected on the enduring contributions of the Osinowo family to political development and grassroots leadership in Lagos and beyond.

Dr. Babatunde Osinowo, Managing Director of NIMCO Group and son of the late senator, served as chief host. He thanked guests for honouring the family’s invitation and celebrating the life and legacy of his father.

“Thank you all for gracing the Ojude-Oba celebration with me,” Dr. Osinowo said. “Your lovely presence added prestige and colour to this special day. May Almighty Allah in His infinite mercy continue to strengthen you all with good health and vitality.”

The event highlighted the sustained relevance of the Osinowo political dynasty, particularly within the Kosofe political structure, years after the passing of Senator Osinowo, whose legacy as a grassroots mobiliser and political bridge-builder continues to inspire followers across party lines.
