The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has imposed a six-month no-fly ban on Fuji music icon, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, following an altercation at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on August 5, 2025.
The sanction bars the veteran musician from boarding any commercial flight within Nigeria until February 2026. The move is expected to disrupt his travel plans, including a scheduled performance in Canada on August 31, a key stop in his 2025 tour calendar.
With the restriction in place, sources close to the artiste said he may have to travel by road to neighbouring countries such as Ghana or Benin Republic to connect an international flight for his overseas engagements.
The NCAA said its action followed allegations of unruly and unsafe behaviour by the singer, including obstructing a moving aircraft and resisting routine security checks.
K1 has, however, denied the allegations, insisting the incident was exaggerated and misrepresented. His camp maintains that he did not endanger passengers or violate safety rules.
Despite the denial, the aviation regulator has stood by its decision, stressing its commitment to enforcing safety protocols and deterring conduct that could compromise flight operations.
As preparations for his Canadian concert continue, fans and industry watchers are keen to see how the Mayegun of Yorubaland navigates the travel hurdles ahead of his international commitments.
