Lagos Lawmaker Assures Inclusive Stakeholders’ Meeting in Kosofe

By Bilesanmi Abayomi

The Lagos State House of Assembly member representing Kosofe Constituency II, Hon. Femi Saheed, has assured residents that all community stakeholders will be part of the 10th Constituency Stakeholders’ Meeting scheduled to hold across the state on Thursday, September 4, 2025.

Saheed gave the assurance following concerns raised by a resident of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, Àare Fatoki Ayobode Kehinde, who had called for broader participation beyond political party members.

Fatoki urged that the meeting extend invitations to Community Development Associations (CDAs), students, artisans, professionals, market leaders, and elites in gated estates, stressing that governance must be inclusive and reflective of residents’ needs in policy-making, infrastructure, and service delivery.

He further canvassed for wider community engagement to strengthen accountability, advocacy for the federal government’s Renewed Hope Agenda on economic recovery, and greater sensitization on Continuous Voter Registration (CVR). He noted that many residents remain disenfranchised due to migration and relocation and suggested decentralizing voter registration to ease grassroots access.

Fatoki also commended the efforts of local government chairmen, singling out Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA for her sensitization initiatives. He praised her recent appointment as State Director of Local Government Mobilization ahead of the 2027 elections.

In response, Hon. Saheed reiterated that “all aforementioned stakeholders have been duly invited” and thanked residents for their feedback, assuring that the meeting will be inclusive.
