UK-Based Nigerian, Bukunmi Preacher, Resigns from Barclays to Begin New Chapter

UK-based Nigerian professional and preacher, Bukunmi Preacher, has announced his resignation from Barclays Bank, where he worked in various capacities, including as a Fraud Expert and Risk Management Specialist.

Bukunmi, who hails from Kosofe, described his career as one defined by bold decisions and purposeful turns. In 2012, he left a Nigerian bank in search of what he called “purpose and significance,” a step he said became the springboard that reshaped his life and gave rise to his identity as “Bukunmi Preacher.”

Nearly a decade later, after relocating to the United Kingdom, he re-entered the corporate world through Barclays, where he built a career, honed new skills, and nurtured valuable relationships. Reflecting on his time at the bank, he described Barclays as “more than an organisation — a beautiful part of my story,” noting that the institution provided him opportunities to learn, grow, serve, and connect.

Announcing his decision to step away, Bukunmi explained that it was time to embrace a new path. “Life na turn by turn. Today marks another turning point. It’s my last day at Barclays and time again to step into a new becoming,” he said, describing the moment as bittersweet but necessary.

He expressed gratitude to mentors and colleagues who contributed to his professional journey, while affirming his readiness for the future. “They say you have to be crazy enough to attempt real success. If na that kind of craze, I’m already a shareholder! Here’s to the beginning of a new, beautiful chapter. We move! Now fully open for business,” he declared.
