Renowned Nigerian international juju musician, Jide Chord, has expressed pride in music executive Don Jazzy following a viral video in which the Mavin Records boss credited Chord for shaping his early music journey.
In the video shared on Don Jazzy’s official Instagram page, the producer publicly acknowledged Jide Chord as his “first real boss,” recalling how he was offered his first opportunity to play bass guitar while in London over two decades ago. “I am out there with my Oga. My real oga. He is the first person that gave me a chance to play a bass guitar back then in London. I am so happy with him,” Don Jazzy said.
Speaking to KosofePost on Sunday morning, Jide Chord described the tribute as an honour, noting that Don Jazzy’s current success reflects his dedication from the very start. He also highlighted the music executive’s discipline and commitment during those formative years: “Àbí o. I’m so proud of him. From the beginning, he always arrived at rehearsals and shows on time, no matter the circumstances,” Chord remarked.
The interaction has since sparked positive reactions across social media, with many celebrating the enduring mentorship, humility, and professional camaraderie between the two entertainers.
