A Lagos-based political stakeholder, Hon. Okufuwa Samad Oluwatoyin, has commended the Distinguished Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Senator Tokunbo Mikhail Abiru, for his timely intervention in addressing the road rehabilitation challenges on Ondo Street, Irawo, in Kosofe Local Government Area.
In a statement released on Sunday, Hon. Okufuwa—who serves as the Lagos State Publicity Secretary of the Young Progressives Party (YPP)—praised Senator Abiru for demonstrating responsive and people-centred leadership by taking practical steps to correct the anomalies surrounding the rehabilitation of the affected road.

He recalled that concerns over the condition of Ondo Street had earlier been raised publicly, including through a video message shared weeks ago, stressing that the action was not politically motivated.
“Our intervention was never about unnecessary politics. It was purely driven by the interest and well-being of our community,” Okufuwa stated.
According to him, Senator Abiru’s willingness to listen and act promptly reflects the qualities of a leader who is attentive to the needs of the people and committed to delivering meaningful solutions. He offered prayers for the senator, wishing him continued strength, wisdom, and success in service to his constituents.
Hon. Okufuwa also extended appreciation to Kosofe Post for amplifying the concerns and ensuring the issue reached the appropriate authorities, noting that the media’s role was instrumental in achieving a positive outcome for residents of the area.

He added that the successful response to the concerns raised over Ondo Street highlights the importance of constructive engagement between citizens, the media, and elected officials in advancing grassroots development and accountability.
