Reactions have continued to trail a recent political analysis titled “2027: APC Power Play Emerges in Kosofe as Key Stakeholders Test the Waters,” which spotlighted five prominent figures within the All Progressives Congress (APC) as early contenders ahead of the 2026 build-up to the 2027 general elections in Kosofe Federal Constituency.

Residents and party stakeholders who spoke on the development described the unfolding political permutations as engaging and instructive, while calling for fairness, party unity, and internal democracy as the race gradually takes shape.

Mr. Ebenezer A. Olatunji, Director of the Directorate of Special People, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Agboyi-Ketu, said the emerging scenario reflects a healthy democratic process within the party. He stressed the importance of providing a level playing field for all aspirants.

“The game is becoming interesting, and it will be good if everyone is given a level playing ground to test their popularity,” Olatunji said.

He also expressed support for the Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, Mrs. Samiat Bada, for openly encouraging Mayor Dele Oshinowo to consider contesting the House of Representatives seat representing Kosofe Federal Constituency.

“Mayor Dele is a performer and has paid his dues. I wish all the aspirants the best in their political endeavours,” he added.

In a similar vein, Salami Oluwaseun noted that all the politicians mentioned in the analysis are loyal party members with the credentials to contest. He emphasized that the APC has established internal mechanisms for selecting candidates.

“Whatever the party leaders decide at the end, whether by consensus or otherwise, we will abide by it. Regardless of who emerges, we will stand by our party,” he said.

Offering a conditional perspective, Aina Oyebanji suggested that the re-election prospects of the incumbent lawmaker, Hon. Kafilat Ogbara, may depend largely on her relationship with party stakeholders and leaders.

“One good term deserves another. If Hon. Kafilat Ogbara has not ruffled feathers within the party structure, I believe the leaders will deem it fit to support her second-term ambition,” Oyebanji remarked.

Engr. Olusola Emmanuel Adedayo, MIAEng, Publisher and Chief Executive Officer of MOSCHINOBLOG, described the unfolding contest as a genuine test of political relevance and strength.

“Let the game begin. We shall later separate the pretenders from the contenders. I am closely watching the space,” he said.

Adding a philosophical and spiritual dimension to the conversation, Taiwo Lasisi, President of Ta’awun Humanitarian Forum, Lagos, said divine intervention would ultimately determine the outcome of the political permutations.

“This is the opening chapter of another political dimension in Kosofe — political maneuverability, bickering and permutations. I see it as a battle of titans, a battle of political attrition, but divine making will have the final say, irrespective of political camps, titans or tactical moves,” Lasisi stated.

As political activities continue to intensify in Kosofe Federal Constituency, observers believe the coming months will further clarify alignments, ambitions, and strategies within the APC, setting the tone for what is expected to be a keenly contested journey to the 2027 general elections.
