The announcement was contained in an official correspondence from the Lagos State Government dated March 2, 2026, conveying the approved list of Secretaries to Local Governments (SLGs), Supervisors and Special Advisers for Kosofe Local Government Area.
The letter, signed by Hon. Bolaji Kayode Robert, Honourable Commissioner for the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development, stated that the approvals were conveyed at the directive of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu.
Hon. Adekunle Saliu’s name appeared among the 17 nominees listed for Kosofe Local Government, with Fatai Gbadebo designated as Secretary to the Local Government (SLG).
The development comes amid a subsisting legal dispute reportedly initiated by Hon. Moyosore Ogunlewe against Adekunle Saliu. Details of the court proceedings remain unclear at the time of filing this report, and it remains to be seen how the matter may affect the newly announced cabinet composition.
Political observers say the inclusion of Saliu in the cabinet may reflect the state government’s current position, though stakeholders are closely watching how the legal process will unfold.
Efforts to reach representatives of Kosofe Local Government for official comment were unsuccessful as of press time.
