Mayor Dele Oshinowo, an aspirant for the House of Representatives seat in Kosofe Federal Constituency, has intensified his campaign efforts with a series of grassroots consultations across Kosofe.

The engagement, held at the APC Secretariat on Doyin Omololu Street in Alapere, attracted a large turnout of party elders, women, youths, and loyalists who gathered to interact with one of the leading contenders in the race.

Oshinowo, who had earlier met with party leaders at the local, state, and national levels, said the decision to engage grassroots stakeholders was aimed at consolidating support and securing endorsements ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking during the meeting, he described the exercise as both strategic and symbolic, noting that reconnecting with constituents he previously served felt like a return home.

“It was more than just consultation. It was a homecoming,” he said, adding that the reception and feedback from attendees reinforced confidence in his ambition.

As part of the outreach, the aspirant held meetings with various interest groups, including the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Community Development Associations (CDAs), the Lagos State Council of Tradesmen and Artisans, civil society organisations, and transport unions such as the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).

He said discussions focused on his track record in public service, his plans for the constituency, and the need for what he described as “tested and trusted representation” at the federal level.

Oshinowo added that many of the groups expressed support for his candidacy, citing his performance in office and commitment to grassroots development.

The consultation tour also extended to religious leaders, including members of the League of Imams and Alfas in Agboyi-Ketu, where he received prayers and words of encouragement.

Describing the engagements as “deeply humbling,” he said the interactions highlighted the importance of unity and collective aspiration for the constituency’s development.

He noted that the consultations would continue across other parts of Kosofe as he seeks to build wider support for his candidacy.

“The journey continues. The consultations deepen. The momentum grows,” he said, reiterating his campaign message of “Stronger Representation, Stronger Kosofe.”
