A Toyota Camry reportedly entrusted to a mechanic for repairs has allegedly gone missing in the Alapere area of Kosofe, Lagos State.
Sources within the community disclosed that the vehicle, a wine-coloured 2008 Toyota Camry with grey interior and registration number FKJ 517 AJ, was taken to the mechanic for repairs on its brake system.
However, due to limited space at the workshop, the mechanic was said to have moved the car to his residence located at No. 13 Balogun Ilawe Street, Alapere, within the Agboyi-Ketu LCDA area, where the vehicle was later discovered missing.
Following the development, the mechanic reportedly lodged a complaint at the Alapere Police Station and subsequently informed the owner of the disappearance as police began efforts to trace and recover the vehicle.
As of the time of filing this report, the car had yet to be recovered.
Sources familiar with the matter hinted that the incident could trigger legal action against the mechanic over the disappearance of the vehicle while under his custody.
