A political observer has drawn parallels between the political strategies deployed during the 2023 and 2026 All Progressives Congress (APC) mobilization campaigns in Kosofe Federal Constituency, pointing to the influential role allegedly played by Samiat Bada in both exercises.

Reflecting on events leading up to the 2022 APC primary election, the commentator recalled covering a campaign flag-off organized by Bada for Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the CMD open field while simultaneously handling another assignment involving the British Red Cross Foundation’s visit to the Olu of Agboyi.

According to the account, a support reporter assigned to cover the political rally became puzzled by the atmosphere surrounding the event.

“Are you sure this is a campaign flag-off for Governor Sanwo-Olu and President Tinubu, or is it actually for the then-aspirant, Hon. Kafilat Ogbara?” the reporter reportedly asked.

The observation, according to the commentator, reflected early signals about who would eventually emerge as the APC flag bearer for the Kosofe Federal Constituency seat ahead of the 2023 primaries.

The writer further argued that political overconfidence and alleged manipulation of the process contributed to the defeat of one of the leading contenders at the time, insisting that a “fair, credible, and transparent” primary election could have produced a different outcome.

Parallels Between 2022 and 2026

The recent APC mega rally organized by Bada in support of Dele Oshinowo was described as bearing strong similarities to the 2022 mobilization effort previously linked to support for Kafilat Ogbara.

However, the commentator identified a major strategic difference between both political outings.

According to the account, the 2022 rally allegedly attempted to create the impression of inclusiveness by encouraging former lawmaker Abiodun Awokoya to attend the event alongside other aspirants.

In contrast, the 2026 rally was described as more direct and unapologetic in its support for Oshinowo’s aspiration.

Aggressive but Reliable Politics”

Despite criticisms often directed at Bada’s political style, the observer described her as decisive and dependable compared to politicians accused of playing “double games.”

The commentary concluded by comparing Bada’s political approach to a reversal of Robert Greene’s famous strategy in The 48 Laws of Power.

“Instead, she fights the war and claims the victory simultaneously,” the writer stated, adding that the strategy appears to be yielding results within the Kosofe APC political structure.
