Engr. Olusola Emmanuel Adedayo, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Publisher/CEO of MOSCHINOBLOG, has called on political leaders and party faithful to place national interest above partisan considerations in addressing Nigeria’s growing security challenges.

Adedayo made the call in a social media post in which he expressed concern over recent reports of kidnappings and insecurity in parts of the country.

According to him, political affiliations should not prevent citizens and leaders from showing concern for victims of insecurity and advocating stronger measures to protect lives and property.

“My APC compatriots, why are we not talking about the children kidnapped in Oyo and Borno States? Why do we allow politics to take away our human sympathy?” he wrote.

The APC stakeholder warned against complacency, noting that security threats could affect any part of the country if decisive action is not taken.

“This menace is closer to Lagos now. We shouldn’t think that we’re immune from this barbaric act. Speak up now and posterity shall be kind to you,” he added.

Adedayo’s remarks come amid ongoing national conversations about insecurity, kidnapping, and the need for stronger collaboration among government institutions, security agencies, political leaders, and citizens to address the challenge.

He urged political actors to prioritise empathy, accountability, and collective action in responding to security concerns, stressing that the protection of lives should transcend political interests.

The comments have generated reactions on social media, with some users describing the intervention as a call for greater public engagement on issues affecting national security.

As Nigeria continues to grapple with security challenges in different regions, stakeholders have repeatedly called for sustained efforts to improve safety and restore public confidence in the country’s security architecture.
