Prominent political leaders, party stakeholders, and community members on Sunday gathered in Mile 12, Kosofe, to pay their final respects to the late Alhaji Muhammed Dandamma Yabo, former Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Lagos State APC Arewa Community.
The Fidau prayer attracted a large turnout of mourners, reflecting the late leader’s influence within the political and socio-cultural landscape of Lagos State.
Leading the delegation was Adetokunbo Abiru, who was accompanied by Mayor Dele Oshinowo, the APC candidate for the House of Representatives, Kosofe Federal Constituency.
Other dignitaries in attendance included Samiat Bada, Femi Saheed, and Muritala Seriki. Members of the Lagos State APC Arewa Community also attended in large numbers to honour the late statesman.
Speaking during the prayer session, Senator Abiru described the late Alhaji Yabo as a respected leader whose contributions to party development and community cohesion would be remembered for years to come.
“Alhaji Yabo was a respected statesman, a bridge builder, and a strong voice of unity whose contributions to the growth of the APC and the development of the Arewa Community in Lagos State will remain unforgettable. His life was a testament to selfless service, leadership, and commitment to the progress of the people,” he said.
Several speakers at the event reflected on the late leader’s legacy, describing him as a man known for wisdom, generosity, and dedication to community development. They noted that his influence transcended political affiliations and left a lasting impact on many lives.
The Fidau prayer concluded with special supplications for the repose of his soul, as mourners prayed for Allah’s mercy, forgiveness, and the grant of Al-Jannah Firdaus. Prayers were also offered for strength and comfort for his family, associates, and the wider community during this period of mourning.
The late Alhaji Muhammed Dandamma Yabo is remembered by many as a community leader who devoted his life to service, unity, and the advancement of the people he represented.
