Visionary Businessman and Community Leader, Elder Emmanuel Tunde Aganbi, Dies at 73

The Board of Trustees (BOT) member of the Canaan Land Golf Course and Country Club, Elder Emmanuel Tunde Oludewa Aganbi, has been described as a visionary leader, a man of integrity, and a God-fearing individual whose life was marked by compassion, selflessness, and unwavering dedication to humanity.

In a statement issued by the family of prominent Nigerian lawyer, Second Republic politician, and Bible translator, Deacon Stephen Ejueyitsi Aganbi, the late Elder Aganbi was remembered as an embodiment of kindness and rationality whose benevolent spirit positively impacted countless lives.

“Elder Emmanuel Tunde Oludewa Aganbi was an embodiment of compassion, selflessness, and rationality. His influence and benevolent spirit will be missed by all,” the family stated.

The family also highlighted his honesty and disciplined lifestyle, describing him as a forthright individual who lived a simple and Spartan life.

According to the statement signed by the Chief Executive Officer of Akogate Group, Hon. Felix Aganbi, Elder Emmanuel Tunde Aganbi discharged his responsibilities as a father, brother, businessman, and community leader with distinction and excellence.

Elder Aganbi passed away in Abuja on Friday, April 24, 2026, just weeks before his 74th birthday.

The statement noted that men and women of integrity from across Nigeria are expected to gather to pay their final respects to the respected businessman and community pillar.

A service of songs will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Christiana Aganbi Hall. This will be followed by a lying-in-state on Friday, June 26, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., before an open-air funeral service and interment.

The family further disclosed that a memorial kitty in honour of Elder Emmanuel Tunde Oludewa Aganbi, alongside traditional burial rites, will commence from 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at the Canaan Land Golf Course and Country Club.

As family members, friends, and associates prepare to bid him farewell, tributes continue to pour in for a man widely regarded as a symbol of integrity, disciplined leadership, and selfless service to his community and nation.
