Lagos Government Installs Oba Kabir Saliu as New Olu Oko Baba Agba Monarch in Kosofe

The Lagos State Government has officially installed HRM Oba Kabir Adesegun Saliu as the new traditional ruler of the Olu Oko Baba Agba Kingdom in Kosofe Local Government Area.

The installation ceremony was held at the headquarters of the Kosofe Local Government Council and attracted government officials, traditional rulers, community leaders and residents.

The Olu Oko Baba Agba Kingdom, located within Kosofe and sharing boundaries with Oworonsoki, witnessed a strong representation of the traditional institution and government at the ceremony.

Among the dignitaries present was the Vice Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, Hon. Wole Sosanya, who represented the council leadership at the occasion.

Also in attendance was HRM Oba Samuel Alamu Kehinde Onikosi, the Onikosi of Ikosi and Chairman of the Council of Obas and Chiefs in Ikosi, Kosofe Land.

The Lagos State Government was represented by the Permanent Secretary and senior officials of the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development, underscoring the state’s involvement in the formal recognition and installation of the monarch.

Several traditional rulers from neighbouring communities also attended the ceremony to lend their support to the new monarch and celebrate the continuation of traditional leadership in the area.

The installation of Oba Saliu formally marks his assumption of the traditional leadership of Olu Oko Baba Agba Kingdom and adds another chapter to the history of the community’s traditional institution.
