Lagos State Government’s last week announced an economic stimulus package for residents, targeting 200,000 households in the first phase.
This involves food packs, put together by the agriculture ministry, that are to be distributed to every local government area in the state. It is to reach the most vulnerable communities and households, with priority given to those who rely on daily wages.
The Kosofe Local government, Agboyi ketu and Ikosi Isheri lcdas packages arrived simultaneously today aat their respective Local council headquarters. While that of Kosofe distribution took place at Emmanuel High School under tight security.
At the distribution monitored by Kosofe Post at the centre, also witnessed onward distribution from the trucks conveying the goods to All Progressives Congress (APC) Ward chairmen, Councilors, Kosofe Committee Development Committee, Commity Development Asssociations among others under the supervision of the Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local government, Mr. Afolabi Sofola.
Mixed feelings pervades the atmosphere of the distribution Centre while the politicians and community stakeholders taken the custody of the items; joy could be visibly seen radiating allover their faces, and the dissapointed residents that thronged the venue mistaken the items for only ogudo Ojota decry the politicisation of the package as APC affairs.
The trio of resident of Ojota; Ishola Ahmed, Bukola .A and Adam John, who were lucky to get from the venue commended the LASG initiative. Adding that it came at the right time because they had already exhausted what they’ve in the last 6days of the lockdown and appeal for more Stimulus packages corporate organizations, philanthropist and political office holders.
However, unlucky residents who stormed the venue claimed that half of the food items distributed and the remaining half was diverted.

Speaking further she said” the neighborhood food stuffs Market unveiled previous day is nowhere to be found for us to buy commodities, I see everything as scam covid(4)19.
Babajide Sanwo-Olu earlier speaking on the targeted beneficiaries last week
partly said: “We are all aware that this is a trying time for our citizens and since the partial drop in economic activities, our government deemed it necessary to reach out to the vulnerable ones in society.”
