Peoples Democratic party chapter of Kosofe has blasted All Progresives Congress for fielding all male candidates for the forthcoming Local Government Election without upholding the partys 40% policy of women inclusion as alleged.
This was contained in a comment posted on Kosofe PDP social media handle on Thursday morning.
The statement reads, “No Establishment of a system of gender mainstreaming that incorporates the policy of 40% of women representation in the party organs. Everything about APC is Lori- Iro….”

It would be recalled that since we return to Democracy, Kosofe Local Government has not paired any female as running mate. Also, the outgoing 7 man 6th Kosofe Local Council Legislative Arm is filled with male.
About 17 Senior Special Adviser and Special assistants appointed by the outgoing administration of the Executive Chairman of Kosofe LG, Honourable Afolabi were strictly men affairs.
Out of about seven supervisory councilors appointment it was only the position of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation,WAPA, left for the huge population of the women.
Agboyi Ketu LCDA, Pioneer Executive Chairman, the current commissioner for Wealth Creation and Establishment, Mr. Yetunde Arobieke and alongside others have represented the women in the LCDA elective and appointive positions. Under the current administration of Mayor Dele Oshinowo sizeable number of women are in his cabinet.
The party leaders in Agboyi Ketu has further improved Women inclusion in Political participation by picking female as vice Chairman and sizeable number of councilorship positions were given to the women ahead of the 2021 forthcoming Local Government election.
Sources also hinted that more women will be given Super, SSAs, SAs, board appointment, among others when Mayor dele is re-elected.
Ikosi Isheri LCDA has also been an outstanding local government in terms of Women participation in politics since the Lcda was created. Women has been Vice Chairmen on several occasions and currently a Chairperson. Female Councilor, Supervisory Councilors, SSAs, SAs, among others were given to the women. Also, the party recently añnounced female as Chairmanship and councilorship candidates for Ikosi Isheri Lcda.
Considering the two Lcdas; Agboyi Ketu and Ikosi Isheri created out of Kosofe inclusion of women in politics. PDP condemnation of the party, APC in Kosofe that pride itself as women friendly and sees women behind the four wall of the kitchen is not out of place.
