Sofola bows to pressure as he allegedly pay Millions of royalty to lawmaker, Okanlawon

The outgoing Kosofe Local Government Executive Chairman, Hon. Afolabi Sofola has finally bowed to pressure as he allegedly pay over 2.5Million political royalty to member of Lagos State House of Assembly representing Kosofe Constituency 1 Hon. Babatunde Okanlawon.

Over the last 4 years, Sofola has been paying royalty to Political leaders in Kosofe ranging from One Hundred thousand to Five hundred Thousands Naira monthly. One of the beneficiaries is of the largesse is Okanlawon , a serving member of the state Assembly.

Sofola, only recently took possession of the council monthly security votes after several years he was denied. Kosofe Post has reliably informed that 250,000 monthly payment to Okanlawon’s withheld last year has been paid.

According to our findings, Sofola, was invited by the House of Assembly Committee, Okanlawon is believed to be behind the invitation.The Committee intervention led to the swift payment of the royalty arrears estimated to be over 2.5Million to the Okanlawon yesterday according to multiple sources.

Mr. Ganiu Okanlawon is the Chairman House Committee on Education in the Lagos State House of Assembly denied the allegations described as balderdash.

He said appropriate committee of the house oversight the Local Governments for review of their activities that Kosofe cannot be an exception.

In his reaction he said, ‘Carry out your investigation properly. It’s all bunkum. All the 57 Local Government and Local Council Development Areas were invited by the appropriate committee of the house that oversight the LGs for review of their activities, Kosofe cannot be an exception.
