The ongoing probe of 20 local government and 37 local council development areas by the Lagos State House of Assembly to justify accountability of public funds in the state may reunite Kosofe LG – Chairman, Mr. Moyo Ogunlewe, and Mr. Sanni Okanlawon, a member of the state Assembly representing Kosofe 1.

The Kosofe Post reports that shortly after the Council chairman assumed office about a year ago, the father-son relationship between the duo of Moyo and Okanlawon was severed.

However, the ongoing probe of local government chairmen by the Joint Committee on Public Account (Local) and the Committee on Local Government Administration and Community Affairs recently necessitated a closed-door meeting between the council chairman and the lawmaker.

According to a source at the Lagos State House of Assembly, journalists were not privy to the investigation, and “the nature of the abuse of office and infraction by council chairmen investigated is yet to be ascertained.”

Apart from some kind of hide and seek game with themselves. Another major issue that may bring them together in the next few weeks is the 2023 general elections, as Okanlawon is fighting tooth and nail to return to the Lagos State House of Assembly.
