The Obasa foundation in partnership with Shields Healthcare Services, carried out the exercise at the Agege Local Government, head quarters opposite Agege Stadium on Thursday october 7, 2019.
The residents were educated on the important of ” health is wealth” and the need for them to stay alive healthy.
During the programme After Health talks, digital Blood Pressure monitoring devices, first aid kits, drugs after undergoing some test were given to them to commemorate the Birthday celebration of the Rtd. Hon. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, the Speaker of the Lagos State House Assembly representing Agege Constituency 1, Which birthday will be officially celebrated on Monday November 11, 2019.
Speaking to kosofe Post and other media on what should be expected from the organisation in the nearest future Mr. Kenneth of the partner said ” One of the things to be expected from us including the foundation and my partner , Oyeyemi Adesoba is to build on what we started today which is people understanding that healthcare start from wellness checkup. Which is what we are really lacking today, We don’t have to be in the hospital to do basic information.
We can do this checks even in our local clinics and that’s why we are suggesting on the possibility of adopting a local clinic. where we come out and educate our nurses on what to do for our communities.
It doesn’t have to be expensive and we don’t have to wait until we are really sick before going to the hospital. We can go to the clinic for wellness checkup. And do something of the things on basic education and basic preventive care. like we are telling them about diabetes and others.
Mr. Oyeyemi Adesoba ,A registered nurse based in United states of America, one of the partner of the Free health care exercise in her remarks said” I have a registered company with my partner, Kenneth, We teach, do infusion and general health checks.
I was born and brought up in Agege, Orile Agege to be precise. I grew up on the streets of Agege and when I came back to the county what I found broke my heart.
I loss my dad to an improper healthcare in the hospital, I loss my sister to an improper healthcare in the hospital. So, I decided, I spoke with my partners on the need to come back and do something.And this is going to be a continue process and its not going to be for only today.
Today we are just doing it for Obasa foundation in celebration of him for his birthday coming up on November 11, 2019. So, we are here to check on our people and do things the way we should do it to, teach because education is one of the thing that’s lacking in Nigeria.
People don’t know about their health, basic things we can do and it’s not been done. That’s why we are here. We are here to give out Blood pressure cups to the people, sensitizer for infection control, first aid kits, and other wonderful things.
Also , Speaking Austine Momodu, A medical practitioners from Germany said he was opportune to be part of this to support Obasa foundation alongside other partners in respect of the health care. He noted further that “Today, I will be doing a little of training to the people concerning first aid, on the basic training of it.
TOS Education initiative, Promoting Reading and Writing culture in Lagos, Nigeria and beyond. Who is also one of the partners spoke on the health talk and her programme held on Friday at JJK park , Alausa , Ikeja.

Also, Education he has passion to make sure all the citizens of Agege and the state in general goes to school. and educated.
Under the UN SDGs, education is number 4, he is so passionate about that and we are here on his behalf on health. Tomorrow is on Education at the JJT Park, Where we are bringing different schools to come and read . We will also, have in attendance Mr. Tunde Kelani, Who will be reading to the children, Tos said.
Few among the hundreds of beneficiaries interviewed at the event commended Obasa foundation and the partners for the well throughout initiative. Also, they expressed their profound gratitude over the free BP monitoring device, First aid kits and free drugs distribution among others.
