PDP and Politics of Non indigenes Sentiments in Lagos

In a desperate attempt to defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress ( APC) and to attract massive sympathy votes the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) paired it’s Flagbearers in Kosofe and Agboyi Ketu with a Non indigenes as Vice Chairmen.

In Kosofe, PDP candidate Adelekan Abdulrauf/Rebecca Akindolie while in Agboyi Ketu; Oluwole Dahunsi/Joy Ashinze with the only exception of Ikosi Isheri where Nurudeen Orosiji/Titilayo Adetayo fly the party ticket.

According to announced Election results Moyo Ogunlewe polled 1996 to defeat the PDP joint candidates Abdulrauf/Rebecca Akindolie who scored votes. Mayor Dele Oshinowo gained over 26,771 to trounced Dahunsi/Ashinze who secured 2749 votes.

The pairing was done based on false impression that non indigenes are consequential in the affected Local Government areas. Whereas, majority of the non Yoruba speaking groups whom PDP gave sense of belonging instead adopted and drums support for the All Progressives Congress Flagbearers in Kosofe, Agboyi Ketu and Ikosi Isheri Lcdas as monitored even without assurance of SLG, Chief of Staff, supervisory councilors, Senior Special Adviser, Special Adviser respectively, appointments.

The outcomes of the last weekend just concluded Local Government election despite some alleged irregularities indicated winning an Election is not about tribal and gender sentiment but solid party structure and organization, among others.
